How I won the 2004 NPA Britain title - by Launder Philogene

FLASHBACK to 2004 and a Classic article by LAUNDER PHILOGENE! 2004 was a big year in the history of Natural Bodybuilding in Great Britain - it was the first year of the Natural Physique Association! The top Natural Bodybuilder of that first year was Launder Philogene, who appeared on-stage in the shape of his life, to take the Lightweight and the Overall NPA Britain titles, after a great battle with Brian Rayner, John Swaby, and Fivos Averkiou! ANNA MILLINGTON - a story of success! 2011 NPA British & INBF World Champion

2011 was a great year for ANNA MILLINGTON, without a doubt one of the finest Ladies Physique competitors ever to compete in the NPA! Among 7 competitions in 2011, she won the NPA Mike Williams Classic and Britain titles, and the INBF World title! These great achievements with all the effort involved to win them are all written about in this fantastic article by Anna, who only entered her first competition in 2009! Anna, a fire-fighter from Keighley, has put into words the dedication, the will-power, and the emotion, not to mention the training and diet, all involved in climbing the mountain and getting to the top! Four Great British World Champions for the NPA at the 2011 UIBBN World Championships in Italy!

For the second successive year the NPA Great Britain team took home 4 World titles at the UIBBN World Championships, this year held in Schio, Italy! Big congratulations to our Champions LLOYD STEWART, ANDY HALLAHAN, JOE LYON and STEVE HOWARTH. It is of course a team effort, and we were so unlucky not to take more victories, with MARK OAKES, ANNA MILLINGTON, NINA SIMONE ROSS, PETER CLARKE, and WAYNE ROBB all placing highly! All members of the NPA GB team were in great shape and are all a credit to the sport - a superb end to the competitive season in what has been the most successful year yet for the NPA!

MARK OAKES and CAROL STREETER win the 2011 Overall NPA BRITAIN titles! A record entry for the NPA 's show of the year!

A magnificent MARK OAKES takes the Middleweight and Overall titles at the biggest and best show in the history of the NPA! 87 competitors! Six years since he won his first Overall title, MARK dominated the competition in Bedworth and was a clear winner! Congratulations to Mark, and to CAROL STREETER who won an incredible 6th Britain title! Congrats to all the class winners; OLIVER SLACKE; JOE LYON; STEVE HOWARTH; ANDY HALLAHAN; NINA SIMONE ROSS; ANNA MILLINGTON; WAYNE ROBB; NIGEL ST. LEWIS; SCOTT FRUIN and PETER CLARKE. 	NPA STATEMENT r.e amended 2011 South East results At the recent 2011 NPA British Finals held in Bedworth on Sunday 23rd October, Lightweight competitor Bazza Ridge failed a polygraph test and was automatically disqualified from the contest. Due to the nature of the failure, Mr.Ridge has subsequently been disqualified from the 2011 NPA South East where he placed first in the Lightweight class. The results from that contest will, therefore, be amended, so belated congratulations are extended to the new 2011 NPA South East Lightweight Champion DAVID BRIGGS. A full report with amended results is now on the NPA web-site (see Show Reports). The NPA will continue to promote Natural Bodybuilding with the drug-testing and polygraphing programmes being such an important part of everything the association stands for.
